Sell-Out Success for Frome College Production of ‘Grease The Musical’

The recent production of the classic musical Grease by the students of Frome College was a smash-hit success playing to packed houses during its run at The Merlin Theatre last week. Under the expert direction of Artistic Director Claudia Pepler and the musical direction of Helen Ostafew-Temmink, the show completely sold-out during its 4 night engagement.

Audience members were treated to the sounds of a live student orchestra, whilst anchoring the show with star power performances were Sydney D. as Danny and Violett A. as Sandy. Sydney took on the iconic role of the rebellious leader of the T-Birds, excelling in numbers like “Greased Lightnin'." While Violett brought a sweet charisma and magnificent singing voice to the role of Sandy, the wholesome transfer student who falls for Danny. Their chemistry onstage was electrifying.

Also shining among the lead cast were Mia C. as Rizzo, Beau S. as Kenickie, and Imogen S. as Frenchy. Together with the ensemble, the cast brought non-stop energy to unforgettable dance breaks expertly choreographed by Frome College Dance Teacher Sam Harper and Tri-Arts instructor Amy Morgan-Bell.

"Our student performers captured the spirit and fun of Grease flawlessly," said Emma Reynolds, Principal of Frome College. "Their dedication and passion for theatre was clear to every audience member. I could not be prouder of what they accomplished with this production."

As Frome College's annual spring musical continues to grow in both professionalism and popularity, Grease marks yet another triumph for the Frome College Performing Arts programme.
