Destinations

Our Sixth Formers go on to a wide variety of post-school destinations – employment, apprenticeships, vocational courses at local Further Education Colleges, and a wide variety of Universities for an equally wide range of degree courses, both academic and vocational.

All our students are mentored by our Employability and Careers Co-ordinator throughout their time in Sixth Form. We have established an excellent program of work experience and other opportunities for students to explore their future career paths, with extensive knowledge of Apprenticeships, local employment opportunities and local provision of vocational training courses. Students can access Careers resources on Student Frog.

Year 13 students are guided through the UCAS application process.

For 2021 University entry, we saw over 100 of our Year 13 students apply through UCAS and this was a considerable rise on the previous year. Two of our students are holding offers for Cambridge and three for Oxford. Offers were also made to our students for Medicine, Optometry, Nursing, and Midwifery. Other students are holding offers from Russell Group and other leading Universities for subjects ranging from Archaeology to Creative Music Technology.

Year 12 students are encouraged to participate in the mentoring schemes offered by Universities such as Bristol (Access to Bristol), Bath (Access to Bath), Cambridge (HE+), Reading (Reading Scholars) and Exeter (Exeter Scholars), and in previous years we have taken groups of students to UCAS Fairs and other University Open Days.
