Changes to our school uniform

In line with the government’s latest statutory guidance aimed at making school uniforms more affordable, we have reviewed and updated our requirements. Our focus is to ensure that our uniform remains smart and fosters a sense of community, while significantly reducing the financial pressure on our families.

Other branded items of uniform are still available to purchase from Cosmic Monkey, if parents wish, but this is entirely optional and high street alternatives can be provided instead but these need to be generic and unbranded.

Navy jumper (optional)	Jumpers with a logo are available from Cosmic Monkey or a plain navy high street alternative can be bought
Black tights/black or white socks	Available from any high street store
Plain black shoes with no markings
PE Kit
PE top	Available from Cosmic Monkey
Shorts	Shorts with a logo are available from Cosmic Monkey or plain black or navy high street alternatives can be bought
Hoodie/jogging bottoms/sports leggings (optional)	College hoodies are available from Cosmic Monkey but high street alternatives can be bought provided they are plain navy or black.
Socks	These can be bought from the high street provided they are plain navy.
Rugby/Hockey top	These items with a logo are available from Cosmic Monkey but can be replaced with plain navy or black high street alternatives.

As a College we believe that uniform promotes a sense of pride and belonging. We would like all our students to present themselves to the highest standard as they represent themselves, College and families each day, and they are a valuable and visible part of our community. We hope that students will take pride in wearing their uniform. If there is some reason why a student cannot be in full College uniform, they must give a note (written by their parent/carer) to their Head of House. They will then be placed on a uniform report.

Additional Rules

• Outdoor coat/jacket: plain colour without pictures/logos/texts – no denim or leather.
• No caps or sports
• Hoodies are not allowed (except for PE); we define a hoodie as any cotton/nylon top – with or without a hood, with or without a zip.
• Thin black belts
• Students can wear two earrings.  Only small studs are permitted.
• Only one small nose stud is permitted. Nose rings are not permitted.
• No other piercings are permitted
• Discreet makeup only.
• Nails to be short and of natural colour.
• No extremes of hair style/colour.
• Maximum of one ring and one bracelet per hand.

Uniform Assistance

The College will support families in meeting the costs of uniforms by providing access, where possible, to second hand uniform, via an online shop.

Parents will be invited to donate their child’s uniform when they no longer need it.

When we receive donated uniform, it is washed, repaired if necessary, repackaged and labelled, ready to be uploaded to the online shop. We charge a small amount for the items and all money received is allocated to helping our most disadvantaged students.

Team Sports Kit

The college has a selection of kits for specific sports which are worn when representing the College at events and fixtures. Students can bring their own sticks/rackets/goggles etc, where required but need to look after them themselves.
