GCSE and BTEC Results 2023

It is surprising that the Government has chosen to reintroduce normal marking patterns with a cohort who have clearly not experienced regular key stage four years.  In the context of this decision and the many challenges this year group has faced, we are very proud of each and every individual and the results all have received today.

304 students have taken a total of 2495 qualifications and have gained some fantastic levels in a wide range of subjects. We are particularly proud of the overall outcomes in Mathematics, Religion and Philosophy, Health and Social Care, Sport, Art, Photography, Textiles, Biology, Physics, Media, Music, Drama and Children’s Learning. In all of these subjects, students made brilliant progress with an impressive percentage easily surpassing their target levels. Well done- results like these are a measure of real hard work and determination.

A total of 103 students achieved grade 7s (equivalent to grade A) or above in 382 qualifications this summer. To achieve such high outcomes is excellent for any year group, so for this year group exceptional.

Thank you to all of our staff and families who have supported this bright and ambitious group of young people. We have many individual stories of determination and hard work to tell and will do so in our GCSE presentation evening on Thursday 16th November.

On Wednesday 6th September we look forward to welcoming our year 12 into Frome Future’s Sixth Form where I am sure they will be successful and happy in their post 16 studies.
