Code of Conduct

Code of Conduct

We have a Code of Conduct that all our Sixth Formers must adhere to, and a dress code to ensure appropriate clothing is worn. These policies are designed to guide our young people towards their role as adults, and to enable them to learn good habits that they will later transfer to the workplace, College or University.

Frome College is proud of what our Sixth Formers achieve – both academically and as members of the local community.  For details of our exam successes, and employment and University destinations, please see the appropriate tabs.

We believe that Sixth Form is an important moment of transition from school student to adulthood. We aim to give our students the skills and confidence to enable them to develop into mature and well-rounded young people who will make a difference in the world.

We expect our Sixth Formers to take responsibility for their own learning and to always behave appropriately. They are role-models for younger students in the school, and their behaviour and attitudes must set a good example for others to follow.

Dress code

Although there is no uniform requirement for Sixth Form students and you may wear clothes of your own choosing, it is crucial that you understand that clothing should be suitable for the working environment and must not interfere with your core aim of learning and achieving.

It is our expectation that all Sixth Form students will act as role models to our younger students, as ambassadors to the community, locally and nationally and to dress accordingly. To this end, clothing which could cause offence to others (by wording, imagery or being too revealing, for example, very short shorts or skirts, cropped or excessively low tops and beachwear) is not permitted.

The judgement of the Sixth form team will be final.
